Your Personal Information

Who is collecting it?
Inspired to Learn, a business registered in Ontario, Canada, owns and operates earlylearningcafe.com, and is responsible for collecting your data. We, as well as several third-parties, are responsible for keeping it safe. Payments are processed through Inspired to Learn, which is a division of Joe Ramsay and Associates Inc.
What we collect, and why
Purchase Information: If you purchase something from our website, we collect your:
- name
- email address
- your primary work setting
The information above is stored by our website, and kept secure at Siteground — the third-party we use to host our website. Learn more about Siteground here.
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
- Pages you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, Website visit statistics and user behavior
- Browser user agent: we’ll use this for purposes like creating charts of views, most used browsers, etc.
- IP address
We do not store records of your billing information. Your name, billing address & credit card information are kept by PayPal or Stripe which are the services we use to process payments. We require that you pass your billing information, including credit card and bank information to PayPal or Stripe in order to process your payment.
You must register an account on our site in order to participate in our online learning programs — whether free or paid. When you establish your account, you will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password. Your password is encrypted and stored securely on Siteground servers. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Customer information and email newsletters
Throughout the site, you can provide your email address to sign up for our newsletter. We store this information in our third-party email marketing platform, VBout. We send occasional newsletters with information we think you might find helpful. You can unsubscribe at any time using a link in the newsletter, or email us and ask to be removed. We also use VBout to store your name and email address when you register for one of our programs so that we can email important information to you about your account with us. We never share or sell your email address to anyone.
For newsletter subscribers we track:
- which emails you receive, as well as which ones you open
- which links you click within those emails
- your preferred email client
- what type of content you’re most interested in receiving
Online Course Data
If you’re enrolled in one of our online courses, we collect the following information:
- the courses (cafes and communities of learning) in which you’ve enrolled
- your progress within those courses
We collect this information to make it easy for you to learn at your own pace, and keep track of where you are in the course. We might also send you reminder emails if you haven’t finished a course.
Website Comments
If you choose to leave a comment on one of our articles, we ask for your name & email address. We use this information to:
- create a more personal dialog between ourselves and our audience
- identify you as a real human, which helps us cut down on spam comments by robots
- potentially contact you in order to better answer a question or help you with a problem
This will always be a personal email sent from a human, and never a marketing message.
How do we store & protect your information?
For all those who create an account at Early Learning Cafe, and those on our mailing list, VBout handles all storage and protection of your data. You can read about VBout’s security policy & GDPR compliance directly on their website.
If you’ve provided your name and email address through a comment form on our site, we store that information on our web servers. Your information is protected in two ways:
- the security at the data centres of our third-party web host, Siteground.
- security measures we implement to prevent malicious attacks or login attempts on earlylearningcafe.com
- your purchase information (name, billing address & credit card information) is protected by PayPal.
How to access or delete your information?
You can view most of your information from your account page. You must be logged in to view this page. Click the “Manage Account” tab to update your name, email address, and password.
Use the Delete Account link to remove your username, email and password from our website.
At any time, you can also request access to your information by emailing us and providing us with your name & email address. We will provide you with all personal data we have collected about you, or delete that information upon request.
Website Analytics
We use website analytics at earlylearningcafe.com to track aggregate web traffic statistics. We collect basic information about visits to the site, including, but not limited to: how the visitor found us, which pages were viewed & what actions were taken. We might also collect demographic information (age, gender) or your general interests. We do not collect any personally-identifiable information.
We use this information to learn how our audience is using the site, and where we should be focusing our efforts to make improvements. We may share general site statistics (total visitors, total page-views, etc.) publicly, or with potential advertisers.
Cookies
earlylearningcafe.com uses cookies for a few things.
- To collect general, non-personal website traffic data
- To customize the experience for first-time vs. returning visitors (by remembering certain actions or preferences)

At earlylearningcafe.com, our #1 goal is, and always will be, to offer quality online learning and create a network of early learning professionals. But we do need to make money in order to continue creating valuable content and online conversations.
