Dannielle Gibson joins us from Australia to guide our thinking about the role of parents and family in children’s early learning programs.

“Families bring diverse social, cultural, and linguistic perspectives. Families should feel that they belong, are valuable contributors to their children’s learning, and deserve to be engaged in a meaningful way.” (How Does Learning Happen? (2014) p.7; The Kindergarten Program (2016) p. 10)

How can we create early learning contexts where we intentionally support the exchange of ideas with parents, deepen acts of their participation, and think more about learning together with their children?

In this Online Conversation Dannielle will offer her insights and strategies for engaging with parents in ways that invite their participation - participation that is a meaningful for them, the program, and the children.
